Docs / Getting started / Activate your license
Activate your license
Enter your license key on the RR Settings screen to turn on Overview, Reports and Exports.
Applies to: Plugins bought from axcelershub.com
After this page, your license will be active and the reports will be switched on.
If you bought Recurring Reports on WooCommerce.com, skip this page. That version has no license screen. Your subscription is managed in your WooCommerce.com account.
Before you start
- Install and activate the plugin. See Install Recurring Reports.
- Have your license key ready. It is in your order email and in your account on our site. Keys look like RR-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
- Use an account that can manage WooCommerce, such as an Administrator or Shop Manager.
- Your site must be able to reach our license server over the internet.
Until you activate, the reports stay off. Every admin screen shows this notice: “Recurring Reports is installed. Activate your license to turn on the reports.” with an Activate license link.
Steps
- Go to WooCommerce → RR Settings. The screen is titled Recurring Reports settings. You can also select Activate license in the notice, or Settings on the Plugins screen.
- In the License card, paste your key into License key.
- Select Activate license.
- Wait for the page to reload. You should see “License activated. Recurring Reports is ready.”
- Select Open Recurring Reports to go to the reports.
What you should see
The badge in the top right of the License card shows the license state.
Badge | What it means | What works |
|---|---|---|
Active | The key is accepted and in date. | Overview, Reports and Exports. |
Expired | The license end date has passed. | Nothing. The reports are off until you renew. |
Not activated | No key yet, or the key was refused. | Nothing. The reports are off. |
When the license is active, the card shows:
- License key, with the middle of the key hidden.
- Plan.
- Valid until, the date the license ends.
- This site, the site the key is tied to.
- Two buttons: Open Recurring Reports and Manage license. Manage license opens your account on our site in a new tab.
If activation fails, the card shows the reason in a red box above the key field. Common messages:
- “Could not reach the license server.” Your site could not connect. Try again later, or ask your host whether outgoing connections are blocked.
- “The license server refused this key.” Check the key for typos. Make sure it is not already active on another live site.
Move your license to another site
One key runs on one live site. Local and staging sites do not count.
- On the old site, go to WooCommerce → RR Settings.
- Select Deactivate license on this site. You should see “License removed from this site. You can activate it on another site.”
- On the new site, follow the steps above with the same key.
If you can no longer open the old site, contact support to release the key.
Notes
- The plugin checks your license with our server once a day. It also checks when someone opens an admin screen and the last check is more than 12 hours old.
- If our server cannot be reached during a check, your reports keep working until the Valid until date.
- The links Find my license key and Buy a license under the key field open our site in a new tab.
- Renewals and cancellations are covered in License and billing.
