Deactivating

Deactivating is meant for a short break. Turn the plugin back on and everything is as you left it.

Deactivation removes all scheduled work:

  • The WP-Cron events rrpt_cleanup_exports, rrpt_run_export, rrpt_rebuild_overview, rrpt_rebuild_overview_daily and rrpt_rebuild_overview_hourly.
  • Every Action Scheduler action in the rrpt group.

It keeps:

  • The rrpt_view_reports capability on every role that has it.
  • All options, including export history and the stored Overview figures.
  • Export files in the rrpt-exports folder.

While the plugin is off, the daily clean-up does not run. Export files older than 7 days stay on disk until you reactivate it or delete it. An export that was running when you deactivated stops. Cancel it and start a new one after you reactivate.

Deleting

Deleting runs the plugin’s uninstall routine. It never runs on deactivation. It removes, on each site:

Permissions

  • The rrpt_view_reports capability, from every role.

Options

  • rrpt_version and rrpt_installed_at.
  • rrpt_export_retention_days.
  • rrpt_exports, the export history.
  • rrpt_overview_rollup, the stored Overview figures.
  • rrpt_license, if your copy uses a license key.

Cached data

  • The plugin’s cached summary transients.

Scheduled work

  • The WP-Cron events listed under Deactivating.
  • rrpt_license_revalidate, if your copy uses a license key.
  • Every Action Scheduler action in the rrpt group.

Files

  • The rrpt-exports folder in uploads, with every CSV in it.

It does not touch your WooCommerce orders, subscriptions, memberships or customers. Recurring Reports never changed them.

What deleting cannot remove

  • Column and filter layouts. These live in each user’s browser storage, not on your server. They are harmless, and they are separate for each site. Users can clear them by clearing site data in their browser.
  • Short-lived locks. Two small temporary values used while the Overview recounts expire on their own within 5 minutes.

Multisite

  • WordPress runs the uninstall routine once, even for a network delete. Recurring Reports then walks through every site in the network and cleans each one.
  • Each site’s capability, options, scheduled work and export folder are removed. Export files live in each site’s own uploads folder.
  • The walk covers up to 5,000 sites.

Before you delete

  1. Download any export you want to keep from the Exports tab. Deleting removes all export files.
  2. Go to Plugins, select Deactivate under Recurring Reports, then select Delete.
